Ari, Naomi and Maisie star in the week of Marriages, births, beginnings and endings

This is WHAT THE F*CK!, your weekly pop culture round-up of nail-biting news, need-to-know trends and never-to-be-ignored topics. Think of it as your own personally curated list, prepped and preened with things that deserve your undivided attention or disapproving glances. Allow us to do the hard work for you (we’re your own little tattle-tale) and let us show you what to check-out and check-off this week.

7 RINGS? JUST ONE FOR NOW!
Ariana Grande marries in secret

Celebs have been rather sneaky this week… Less than six months after the announcement of their engagement, ARIANA GRANDE wedded her real estate agent beau, Dalton Gomez in secret. Our pint-sized pop princess who has previously had high-profile relationships with equally high-profile characters has opted for the quiet, married-to-a-normie-lifestyle and honestly hats off to you Ari because there’s nothing hotter than a man with a private Instagram account with hardly any followers.

SHADE AND THE CITY
Patricia Field opts out of Sex and the City reboot

Whilst we’re all still reeling from the lack of Samantha in the upcoming SATC reboot, it’s been announced that legendary costume designer PATRICIA FIELD will not be styling Carrie’s Manhattan shenanigans. We will sorely miss the stylist who gave us the JOHN GALLIANO DIOR adultery dress, mismatched heels in Downtown L.A, the FENDI baguette phenomenon and MANOLOS a-plenty. What’s Field choosing to focus on instead? Our little friend Emily in Paris across the Channel… Go chase that Netflix cheque ma’am.

CALL HER MOTHER
Naomi Campbell welcomes a baby daughter

Another one of AZEALIA BANKS’ 2020-2030 predictions came true this week when supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL dropped a pic of her newborn daughter on Instagram. With a caption to warm even the coldest of hearts, Campbell wrote “a beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother.” Currently I’m dreaming of the most fashionable christening of all time, VERSACE altar boys, MARC JACOBS as godfather, KATE MOSS in a fascinator and Baby Campbell in a BURBERRY christening gown.

LET’S BE FRANK
Maisie Williams launches new film podcast

If you’ve ever found yourself being cornered by a guy at a house party who just has to explain to you why Citizen Kane is the greatest movie of all time (it’s not Showgirls, trust me) you may feel like you don’t fancy dipping into the realm of film discussion. But MAISIE WILLIAMS is here to save the day with the arrival of her new podcast Frank Film Club. Hosted by four young women working in the film industry themselves there’s not a drop of mansplaining in sight, so worry not about getting your ear chewed off.

JEAN PAUL BIDS ADIEU?
Is Jean Paul Gaultier no more?

Sacré bleu! In an ominous Instagram post this Friday beloved French fashion brand JEAN PAUL GAULTIER simply posted “The End” and somehow I don’t think that’s a reference to a 2009 Black Eyed Peas album. Unfortunately at the moment we can only speculate about what’s taking place in his humble maison but as a harbinger of gossip hopefully next week we can spill the whole cuppa tea.
