Is it news? Courtrooms, interviews, PDA and plenty of Hunky Dory filled our timelines this week

This is WHAT THE F*CK!, your weekly pop culture round-up of nail-biting news, need-to-know trends and never-to-be-ignored topics. Think of it as your own personally curated list, prepped and preened with things that deserve your undivided attention or disapproving glances. Allow us to do the hard work for you (we’re your own little tattle-tale) and let us show you what to check-out and check-off this week.

GOOD FOR HER
Ashley Olsen carries a machete and pint

Hot Girl Summer as we all know can take many various shapes and forms, this week’s offering was a rare snap of Ashley Olsen. Shared via her boyfriend’s Instagram, LOUIS EISNER, the THE ROW designer carried a huge machete in one hand and a pint in the other as she embarked on a hike. How curious yet simultaneously such is the nature of the Olsen twins…

NEW COUPLE ALERT
Bella Hadid packs on PDA

This week BELLA HADID launched her latest beau, Marc Kalman, in an Instagram pic dump - because that’s exactly how modern women do it. Kalman, an art director best known for working with TRAVIS SCOTT, has been the supermodel’s rumoured boyfriend for sometime now but at last the pair have finally ‘firmed it. Further cemented yesterday when photos emerged of #Mella (or Barc? What do we think guys?) having a big old snog on a boat in Cannes.

BANKS IS BACK
Azealia Banks drops Fuck Him All Night

The controversial place AZEALIA BANKS holds in the public eye may have made you forget that the rapper has an incredible talent. Feuds with Ireland, GRIMES and short-lived engagements aside; this week, Banks returned with the raunchily titled Fuck Him All Night. The track is reminiscent of her earlier work that we all fell in love with back in the Tumblr days and has been commended by everyone from Rolling Stone Magazine to actress HARI NEF.

IS IT NEWS?
Rina Sawayama in new fashion interview series

Hosted by artist and model TAFARI HINDS, IS IT NEWS is fashion’s latest video interview series with star-studded guests the likes of VIVIENNE WESTWOOD and ALYX STUDIO’S LUCA BENINI. Kicking off with none other than the legendary XS singer, RINA SAWAYAMA, tune in to the video to hear about the emerging British singer’s take on youth, music, fashion and how K-pop paved the way for Asian pop stars to succeed in Western music.

#FREEBRITNEY
Celebrities share their support for Britney Spears

As the #FREEBRITNEY movement continues to grow momentum; the list of celebrities voicing their support for the singer only gets bigger. This week via MADONNA’S Instagram page, which has 16.2 million followers, she declared her support for Spears’ and disgust at her conservatorship. “This is a violation of human rights! BRITNEY, we coming to get you out of jail!” - the singer put. Rumours have also been circulating this week that Spears’ will be hiring former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart as her new attorney. A man who previously has represented Ben Affleck (all roads lead back to Affleck don’t they?), hopefully this means Jamie Spears’ days are numbered.

HOT HOUSEWIFE SUMMER
Who is Hunky Dory?

During this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, KATHY HILTON, mother of PARIS FYI, asked “who is hunky dory?” Amidst a fight between two of the wives, Sutton declared “it’s hard for me to sit there and pretend like everything is great and hunky dory” to which Hilton looked noticeably confused - “who is hunky dory?” she asked. No one answered. Sources fear Hilton still doesn’t know who hunky dory is.
