FERAL WOMAN is a photographic self-portrait series examining themes of confinement, escapism, and rebirth. The book is separated into three chapters, as it explores the cyclical nature of day into night. Inspired by traditional fairytales and myths, including Rapunzel and La Loba (The Wolf Woman) as they act as an escapism of reality, mirroring the escape of the character in the series. The collaboration of interior against exterior tells the story of escape, mirroring the tale of Rapunzel and the confinement felt in the tower. Portraying as a self-portrait series, strengthens the sense of self-discovery explored within each image. This book was made during the 2019-2021 covid pandemic, which inspired many of the themes explored within this project, including a false sense of reality, confinement, and freedom.”
