Remember when Xtina decided it was time to reveal she was one third of an Aguilera triplet in order to entertain the servicemen in the music video for Candyman? Yeah, that was a time… While emerging photographer JULIA HOWE might not have taken direct inspiration from that turn of the decade narrative, Candy Girls, created in collaboration with art direction and styling by SAMUEL COHEN MORGAN, aims to turn the representation of the ‘femme’ female on its head.

Howe and Morgan’s editorial explores sexuality through the lens of a high-fashion, candy-filled fantasy dream. Attempting to take the hyper-sexualisation out of fetish wear, namely the use of latex, buckles and stripper heels, they instead chose to elevate it, working with designers and brands the likes of HOUSE OF HARLOT, DEAD LOTUS COUTURE and NII HAI. The result? A highly saturated haze of pink bunny ears, cloud-like baby blue trousers and a whole lot of sizzling sparkles.
